| The Domino Grill came about when local domino players needed a place to visit, play and gossip. Several years ago Sam Hughes bought what was at one time the old "Floyd Gilbert Grocery & Gas Station" and gave them that opportunity. He and his wife, Madeline, installed a grill and some fryers and started serving burgers and fish on week-ends. Pam Harrison decided the food was good and made Sam an offer he couldn't refuse and in March, 2005, the Domino Grill changed hands. A interesting historical tidbit is that in the 1920's, there was a service station located here that was owned by Pam's husband's grandfather, J.T. Harrison. It is believed that a portion of the current building is part of that original structure. See a picture of the old service station by clicking on the "Links & Other Stuff" button above. The view in that picture is the front, or west end of the grill.
